Description & Objectives:

Moisture-associated skin damage (MASD) and medical adhesive-related skin injuries (MARSI) are frequent causes of skin breakdown but are largely preventable. Effective prevention involves comprehensive patient assessment, selecting appropriate products, and ensuring correct implementation by non-provider clinicians. When these conditions occur, timely and effective management is crucial to prevent further skin breakdown and serious complications, such as bacterial and fungal infections.

Identify 3 clinical signs and symptoms common to each type of Moisture-Associated Skin Damage.
Name 5 risk factors for medical adhesive-related skin injury.
List 3 considerations for the correct removal of adhesive tape.
