Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this program, the participant will be able to :

Describe how skin structure, function, and nutritional factors contribute to skin health, risk of wounds, and wound healing.
Detect early signs of compromised skin integrity, including skin tears, lesions, and pressure-related damage.
Differentiate wound types, including pressure injuries, lower extremity wounds, diabetic wounds, acute wounds, and atypical wounds, based on clinical characteristics.
Support wound healing through appropriate use of wound bed preparation principles, dressing categories, and adjunctive therapies.
Recognize how tissue load, blood perfusion, and risk factors affect wound development and healing outcomes.
Apply wound assessment techniques to evaluate wounds and monitor changes throughout the wound healing process.
